The challenge of this architectural refurbishment was to install all modern day amenities expected of a new high-technology house and to expertly conceal them seamlessly into the fabric of an historic Georgian residence.
The house is south facing at the rear and has it own private garden.
Built over the basement, ground and four upper floors the house is serviced by a new passenger lift to all the main floors and a sealed air-conditioning system has been installed to climate control the whole house.
Working with English Heritage, approval was granted to lift the original location of the kitchen out of the staff area in the basement and into what is now a spectacular wood panelled ground floor Kitchen / Dining Room which opens onto the garden.
Most new homes now boast "an audio visual room" but Upper Grosvenor Street has taken the redundant old kitchen area and skilfully converted it into a fully equipped Cinema.
It is very rare for a house to boast a Grade II listed bathroom. This master bathroom has been cleverly restored and brought up to modern day requirements with the addition of a walk through over-head shower.
